PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) VS. PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) and EZ GEL:

Which is the difference and which one is better?
Here at New You Wellness Clinic, we pride ourselves on following the latest science when it comes to your face and body treatments. The exciting world of regenerative medicine is making great inroads in accelerating the body’s ability to repair and rebuild damaged tissues, which includes cosmetic issues, such as aging skin and hair loss.
As a result of our research, we’re excited to upgrade to PRF over PRP, which offers several advantages. Let’s take a look.

The Power of Platelets

$650 per syringe
Your blood contains four ingredients: red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. The platelets in your blood are responsible for clotting, preventing you from bleeding out — but their role hardly stops there. Once the bleeding is controlled, your platelets release growth factors and cytokines to initiate the healing cascade, which includes calling on white blood cells, stem cells and growth factors.
With PRP therapy, we draw a sample of your own blood. Then, using a special centrifuge and an anticoagulant, we separate out the platelets to create a biocompatible concentrate. Getting PRP is essentially like getting a booster dose of intramuscular vitamins. You get a boost of benefits however only for a short period of time. Whereas the PRF, along with all the beneficial properties of stem cells, growth factors and cytokines will remain in your tissues for several weeks after your injection which will optimize the effects of the treatment.
Certain areas of medicine, especially orthopedics, have been turning to PRP therapy to help accelerate healing of both hard and soft tissues. On the aesthetics side, we’ve found great success in using this practice to rejuvenate aging skin and to address hair loss.

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) VS. PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) and EZ GEL:

Amplifying the regenerative power with PRF

While PRP has proven very successful, PRF is next generation PRP. Fibrin is what platelets bind to as they circulate through your blood. When platelets bind to fibrin they release growth factors which help to start the healing process by creating new collagen, blood vessels, and skin cells.
PRF is more effective because it gives patients the same benefits of PRP while also releasing more growth factors overtime so it will continue to work for several weeks after the procedure is done.

Uses of PRF:

$650 per syringe
At our practice, we use PRF to address a wide range of issues, including:
Since these treatments are autologous, as they come from your own blood, your body readily accepts the PRF. Your results are gradual as your skin regenerates itself on a cellular level.

PRF ez gel:

Not only do we offer liquid PRF, but now we have PRF EZ Gel! This cutting edge treatment in the aesthetic industry, utilizes a combination of your albumin that we have heated then cooled to form a “gel” which contains your PRF. These two are then blended together to form your own natural filler! We can use this all over the face where you have volume loss and need skin rejuvenation. EZ Gel is a great alternative for those who do not want regular HA fillers injected. It’s 100% autologous (meaning made from your own blood), biostimulating, and volumizing. We have seen great results, especially for those who suffer with depleted tear troughs.

We can decide together to see if PRF or PRF ez gel is the best option for you!

What to Expect on the Day of PRF

$650 per syringe
Depending on what you are looking to use PRF for, your experience will be different, but it will always start the same. You will come into our office and get comfortable in our reclining treatment chair. A small sample of your blood will be collected in the tubes and then spun at a specific speed to separate your red blood cells from everything else. The centrifugal force generated pushes the heavier red blood cells to the bottom of the tube. Once this step is complete, we can collect the top layer of the tube’s content, which is composed of your very own Platelets and White blood cells.

PRF Recovery

After your EZ PRF treatment, you will be able to return to your day but keep in mind that your face will be red and you may experience light bruising, itching, and swelling, which can last for a few days after your treatment. You can use Ice or cold compresses to reduce swelling but should be used in short increments. You should avoid all anti-inflammatory medications for at least three days after your procedure.

The injections are not particularly painful, but the treatment does require a small amount of blood to be drawn, which is virtually painless. The PRF is injected into your targeted treatment area, so it’s common to feel a tingly sensation when the PRF is injected; this is normal. Most patients are surprised at how painless EZ PRF treatments can be.
The number of sessions you need will depend on what you’re trying to achieve and the treatment you are getting. Most patients will see the best results after multiple sessions that build upon each previous treatment. While on average, you can expect three to four treatments, when you come in for your consultation and receive an evaluation, we will be able to give you a much better idea.
PRF requires treatments to be spaced apart every six to eight weeks. Long-term benefits, such as enhanced skin quality, collagen production, and skin tightening, can take up to three months to be fully noticed but can last anywhere from six to twelve months.

YES! Our patients will often combine their treatment with other rejuvenation treatments, such as Dermal Fillers, BOTOX, or Microneedling.
